What is your position/title and how long have you been at the company?
I’m the K-12 Territory Manager for Northeast Interior Systems (NEIS) in New York. I see my role as a consultant for our clients and their needs. If you do that right, the revenue will come. I have worked at NEIS for more than 34 years in various positions, with the last six being in my current role.
What is your favorite part about your job?
I love the challenge of closing new projects and collaborating with people, whether they are fellow NEIS employees or customers. The way that ownership does business and the values they hold have both played a big part in why I’ve stayed here for so long.
What are some projects that have made you proud?
Last year, I managed a project at Yorkshire Pioneer CSD and was proud of how it turned out for both the client and NEIS. It’s a great feeling when we get unsolicited commendations from a customer in any phase of a project. I also get excited seeing the company grow. When I started, the Syracuse office consisted of four employees. Today, it has more than 25 employees!
What is something about your job that people might not be aware of?
A Territory Manager’s responsibilities don’t end after booking a project or submittals. We need to stay in contact with our Project Manager and the client to understand the latter’s experience with us through project completion so that we can use that knowledge the next time we interact with them. Doing right by the customer is our primary goal because nobody wants a salesperson who disappears after the sale.
What are your hobbies outside of work?
Outside of work, I hold a 1st degree Brown Belt in Krav Maga. I also enjoy attending concerts and music festivals, spending time with my grown kids, and investing.
